もともとは都城市の庄内（当時は安永村）にあったものを、明治３年（１８７０）に当時の地頭三島通庸が三股村開拓の当初に現在の位置に遷宮し、明治６年郷社に列せられたものです。
祭神は、『三股町史 改訂版』によれば、豊宇気之神・大宮比売命・猿田彦之神・山王神・大山祇之神とあります。
豊宇気之神・大宮比売命・猿田彦之神の三神は庄内にあった時のものですが、山王神は昔から当地にあって、明治７年日枝神社と改称し、その後、明治４３年に稲荷神社に合祀されました。
大山祇之神は、古来長田にあったものを、明治６年稲荷神社に合祀したようです。
以上のような経緯で現在は五柱の神様が祭られています。
Originally from Shonai in the Miyakonojo area (known at the time as Yasunaga), the shrine was moved in 1870 after the decision was made by Mishima Michitsune. Toyoukenokami, Omiyahimeno, Sarutahikonokami, Sanoshin, and Oyamatsuminokami, are the deities known as the five pillars of Inari Shrine, as it is written in [The History of Mimata Town, revised edition]. Toyoukenokami, Omiyahimeno, Sarutahikonokami, where originally the deities found in Shonai, but Sanoshin was originally found in Mimata since long ago and became part of the Inari Shrine in 1910. Oyamatsuminokami was originally found in Nagata and is part of Inari Shrine as well. All five of these deities are now celebrated together at Inari Shrine.
